It's Been A While

I realize it's been a long time, but I think I should let y'all know that I'm doing pretty good right now. 

Only problem--and it's a doozy--I am still getting nasty headaches. I can no longer take the meds that have always worked, since they are not heart-friendly. So, nothing else really works. I end up with headaches for days. Not fun.

Other than that, my stamina is getting a little better, too. I still take naps, but they are shorter and later on in the day.

Thanksgiving?

There are a lot of things for which I am truly grateful.

The first of these is my health... because as bad as it is, at least I am doing better than 3 or 4 years ago.

Second of these is my loving husband. He's the very best.

Third of these is my mom, who's living with me and my husband. Yeah, it's not always easy having to deal with her issues, but she loves both of us very much.

I also love Stardoll, which is what keeps me sane. I have met some truly wonderful and very interesting folks there. It's just plain fun!

Autumn in the South

It's just changed back from Daylight Savings Time. Fall forward, Spring back. Right?

Glad my mom's here. Even Michael is getting to know her again and love her again. That's the best thing. 

Diabetes is a serious disease. Please keep that in mind.  It's affecting one of those I love so much. Thanks!

Michael is in so much pain it scares me. I guess it's scaring him, too, since his AFib is doing its stuff for his heart monitor trial month. OK the past couple of days, so I'm not complaining.

Well, the miracle has happened. I got news, via my bank account, that I have been approved for my Social Security Disability Income. Without a hearing! It really feels good to have that validation, even if I can no longer have the career I loved.

Greg Giraldo!!

It's hard for me to even admit this, but his passing has brought tears to my eyes and I just weeped. What a great man, comedian, and I hope father and husband. Something about his humor, his talent for roasting others! He was my first celebrity friend on FaceBook. For a very good reason. I will miss him very much.

One Reason Why I Love Stardoll!

  The other day I went to a new Asian restaurant in my town. Imagine my total surprise and delight to discover that the first thing you see behind the cash register of this fine eatery is that gold lucky cat that waves. I have one in my suite that was a gift from a friend. Yeah, I thought it was cute, but I had no idea of its significance until I saw it in that restaurant.
  So, I asked the young lady behind the cash register what the significance of that cat was. She told me that it was a lucky cat, and it served as a greeting to all who entered. It was a gift to the restaurant for its grand opening.
  I took a photo of it with my cell phone and was just bubbling about how much I love Stardoll! I have made so many really dear friends here, and I love learning about other cultures so much!!
